Robbery suspect to be identified

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for two related retail robberies.

On January 17, 2016, at approximately 10:30 pm, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 5500 block of Manotick Main in Manotick Village. The suspect pulled on a black balaclava within the store and produced a knife. The suspect made a demand for cash but the employee refused to cooperate. The suspect fled the premises empty-handed and entered a black hatchback. There were no injuries.

A short time later, at 10:40 pm, the same suspect entered a gas station situated along the 3100 block of Prince of Wales Dr., near Crestway Dr. The suspect again produced a knife and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of money. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 20-25 years, approximately 5’10″(178 cm), thin build, dirty blonde or light brown hair, English speaking. At the time he wore a long sleeved white shirt, black pants, and a black balaclava (images attached.)
