Bank Street robbery suspect to be identified

The Ottawa Police Service’s Robbery Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking your assistance in the identity of a suspect responsible for a retail robbery at a drug store.

On January 19, 2016, at approximately 3:00pm, a lone male suspect entered a drug store situated along the 100 block of Bank Street. The suspect proceeded to the cosmetics area and concealed a number of items. When the suspect’s actions were detected by staff and he was confronted, he produced a large knife. A brief struggle ensued during which some of the items were dropped by the suspect. Staff followed the suspect from the store at which point he again brandished the knife. The suspect fled on foot with a number of cosmetic items and was last seen southbound on Kent Street.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, approximately 35-45 years old, 150lbs (68 kg), 5’7” to 5’10” (170cm – 178cm), skinny build, some facial growth (scruffy). At the time he wore a dark winter jacket, a white knitted tuque, blue jeans, white sneakers and sunglasses.
